Sunday 20th July 2025
Peymon (friend from my studios) helped me - unbelievably grateful that he did. It was one hell of a job. This wood will be turned into the 'box' of the gallery / boat.
Day 2 (solo effort)
Thursday 24th July 2025 1600 - 1900hr
One day left of rescuing the wood - to be continued... (will add to this page in the next few days)
Day 3
Sunday 27th July 2025, 1300hr - 1700hr
14 hours work (20 man-hours) for £480 of wood = £24 of wood per man-hour
Peyman was particularly tired today. Not a lot of smiles. He has been working 7 day weeks for approx 10 hours a day. No money is exchanging hands for the work on the boat - he finds a lot of meaning in the project and his involvement in the boat is part of his work as an artist. I pitched the project to him outside the lifts in the studio block, offering him time in the gallery in exchange for his involvement. He said "I am in. I am in." The project is evolving and it is becoming more of a collaboration.
