Horse in profile d'apres Degas. The 'Anatomical Studies' mini series celebrates observation being at the core of visual matters. It is also a very exposing way of working and one is very open to scrutiny. The pose mirrors something of this aspect and seems to say 'I am here to be seen'. This drawing re-uptakes what was mapped out in the previous one. Where number 012 demonstrates a working out of the shapes and proportions, this one builds on that and 'adds meat to the bone'. The sleek defined curvature of contours is the result.
